Nominee company checks in 2026
Since 1 January 2026, Thai shareholders of foreign-participation companies must prove payment for their shares with 3 months of bank statements.

What changed
Since 1 January 2026, Thai shareholders of companies with foreign participation must prove payment for their shares with 3 months of bank statements. Checks are running in 12 provinces, including Bangkok, Phuket and Chonburi (Pattaya).
Under the Foreign Business Act, nominee arrangements carry up to 3 years in prison and fines from 100,000 to 1,000,000 THB.
Who is affected
Owners of companies set up through agents with “nominee” Thai shareholders, and anyone who received a work permit through such a company.
What to do
Check your company structure before an inspection does. If there are risks, there are legal ways out: real partners, BOI, a Foreign Business Licence, restructuring or closing the company.
