What changed

From 31 August 2026, the DTV requires proof of permanent residence in the country where you apply and a police clearance certificate. You can no longer apply “wherever is convenient” — applications go through your country of citizenship or residence.

The rest stays the same: the fee is 10,000 THB and you need at least 500,000 THB in your account.

Who is affected

Remote workers, freelancers and “soft power” participants (Muay Thai, Thai cooking and other programmes) planning to apply for a DTV.

What to do

Have your documents checked before you apply — a mistake in a bank statement or certificate is a common reason for refusal. We will review your file and tell you where and how to apply in your case.
